We are delighted to announce that Brading Heritage Centre will be opening its doors in February / March, marking an exciting new chapter in the story of Brading Railway Station and its historic signal box.

Located at the heart of the station, the Heritage Centre has been created to preserve and share the rich railway and local history that has shaped Brading for generations. At its centre is the beautifully restored Victorian signal box, a rare survivor that offers a unique insight into how trains were once safely and carefully controlled.

Visitors will be able to explore the story of the station, discover how the railway influenced the growth of the town, and see original features brought back to life. One of the highlights of the centre will be live signal box demonstrations, where experienced signalmen will explain traditional railway operations and invite members of the public to get involved, making history both accessible and memorable.

Brading Heritage Centre is more than just a place to visit—it is a community-led project supported by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about sharing local heritage. Whether you are a railway enthusiast, a local resident, a visitor to the Isle of Wight, or a family looking for something a little different to explore, the centre aims to offer something for everyone.

As we prepare for our opening in February / March, we look forward to welcoming visitors and sharing this unique piece of Bradings heritage. Keep an eye on our website and social media for opening dates, event details, and updates as we get ready to open the doors and bring the signal box back to life once again.
