Our Purpose
At Brading Heritage Centre, we celebrate and preserve the fascinating history of Brading Station and its role in the life of our community. Our collections and exhibits bring to life the stories, culture, and heritage of the station across the decades, offering a window into the golden age of travel.
Join us at Brading as a volunteer, supporting the Tea Room, Museum, and Signal Box, helping visitors enjoy the site and its history.

The Tea Room
Catering
In the Tea Room, volunteers help prepare and serve teas, coffees, and light refreshments, keep the space clean and welcoming, and chat with visitors, helping to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for everyone who stops by.

The Museum
Archives
In the Museum, volunteers support day-to-day operations by welcoming visitors, helping to look after displays, sharing knowledge about local and railway history, and answering questions, making the exhibits engaging and informative for people of all ages.

The Signal Box
Signalling / S&T
In the Signal Box, volunteers help interpret and demonstrate how the historic railway signalling system worked, explain its importance to the railway and the local area, and bring this rare part of Britain’s railway heritage to life. They may also assist with basic maintenance and upkeep, helping to preserve equipment, keep the signal box in good working order, and ensure it remains safe and presentable for future generations to enjoy.
